The general process for making sand casting molds is to make two upper and lower sandboxes, make a casting pattern, mix sand and binder, fill it into the sandbox with the pattern and vibrate it, take out the pattern, put it in the sand core and close the

The Methods to Make Sand Casting Molds
How To Make Sand Casting Molds?
The basic components of sand casting are sand, binder, and refractory coating.
Sand includes quartz sand, emery, ferrochrome sand, etc.
Binders include natural resin, synthetic resin, clay, water glass, silica sol, etc.
We first make Models using wood, metal, plastic foam (lost foam casting), etc. according to the appearance of the casting.
For complex castings, we need to use a sand core to assist in making a cavity.
Place the Models in the sandbox and pour in the sand and binder mixture. When the lost foam casting models are placed, they need to be coated with a specific thickness of refractory material on the surface.
The sandbox is divided into upper and lower parts, which is convenient for us to take out models and put in sand cores.
Put a pipe or other object that can create a gate to facilitate pouring liquid metal into the cavity later.
Shocking the sand makes them more filling and prevents them from collapsing during pouring.
It is necessary to remove models in ordinary sand casting, but not in lost foam casting.
This results in a sand-casting mold that can be over-poured.
